World Cup Edition

Gooooollllllllll, golazo!

Yes, maybe I have been watching way too much soccer over the last few days, but I am not ashamed.  How can you not root for your own country?  I always beg people, please do not give me an excuse to not work, because usually I will take it.  Cheering for the red, white, and blue is another matter all together. What a game yesterday, last minute, from going home to winning the group with one swift kick.

With the casual US sports fan embracing the world’s game, the beautiful game, the international game that unifies all countries regardless of religion or politics, I think it’s also time to take a look at international co-reg and lead gen.  (terrible segue, but at least I tried)

Over the last few years UK and Canada co-reg slowly but surely became very popular and profitable.  More advertisers moved into the space creating demand, and in turn, more publishers and networks adapted to beefed up supply.  These days I am not surprised to get inquiries for almost any country out there.  The western European Spain, France, Italy, and Germany seemed like the logical progression.  Mexico, Brazil, and some Hispanic and South American countries followed.  India, and Australia pop up from time to time, but now I am seeing very targeting countries like Wales and Scotland and even with age targeting.

This can only be a good thing for companies serving the lead generation and co-reg markets.  Our niche industry continues to grow beyond our borders even while US demand increases.  The new demand encourages us to branch out and make new contacts.  (Ad:tech London looks to be in my future) My friends outside of the lead gen space, shake their heads when I rehash a call from Australia, London, or India.  Not only do they not fully grasp what we do, now they think I am in the “import/export” business if you know what I mean.

What have you seen change in the world of international co-reg and lead generation?  Will you be at Ad:tech London?  Let me here from you.
